Marketplace marketing agency Podean has officially launched in Europe, headquartered in London.

In the UK, Ecommerce constituted 28.2% of holiday retail sales in 2019 and is growing at 23% per year according to e-marketer, while physical store sales declined 3.8% in the same period. UK ecommerce across 2020 is expected to grow 8.9% to reach £114.26 billion. Across Europe, ecommerce grew at 13% from 2018 to 2019.

This growth represents a massive opportunity for brands, especially those with ambition to sell on Amazon, which dominates the European ecommerce landscape.

Podean’s launch will provide marketplace marketing expertise to UK and European clients, supported by the company’s global network with experience across all facets of marketplace marketing, from retail to analytics, logistics/supply chain, creative, content, voice and media management.

Podean has appointed Jonathan Hawkins as European Managing Director. Before joining Podean, Hawkins was Commercial Director of Square Up media, owners of media properties including Escapism, Foodism and Square Mile. During his decade at Square Up he led editorial, content and most recently commercialisation and sales with a focus on digital products and ecommerce growth.
